Rugsley

Payment Policy

Last updated: 12 August 2026

This policy explains how we take and secure payment for your order. Payments are handled by Stripe; Rugsley never sees or stores your full card details.

How payment is processed

We use Stripe, a PCI-DSS Level 1 certified payment provider, to process payments. Your card details are entered on Stripe’s secure, tokenised checkout, not stored by us.

Accepted methods and currency

We accept major debit and credit cards and the digital wallets Stripe supports.

Prices are set in Australian dollars (AUD). At checkout, Stripe may offer to charge you in your local currency at Stripe's exchange rate; if you pay in another currency, any refund is returned in that same currency and the amount you receive can vary slightly with exchange-rate movement.

When you are charged

Payment is taken at checkout. Your order is confirmed only once payment succeeds.

Who you are paying

The artist receives the funds for each sale through a Stripe-connected account and is the seller of record for your purchase.

The website itself is operated by Enki Digital as the artist's service provider. Enki Digital is not the seller and does not hold your payment; your purchase contract is with Rugsley.

GST and receipts

A standard receipt is emailed to you after purchase. Rugsley is not currently registered for GST, so no tax invoice is issued.

Security

The site is served over HTTPS, card data is tokenised by Stripe, and we use bot and fraud protection to keep checkout safe.

Refunds

Approved refunds are returned to your original payment method, in the currency you paid in.

All refunds — full or partial — are processed through Stripe back to the payment method you used at checkout. We cannot send a refund to a different card or bank account.

Once we issue a refund, Stripe releases it straight away; your bank or card issuer then typically takes 5 to 10 business days to show it. Some banks display a refund as a reversal of the original charge rather than a separate credit.

If your card has since expired or been cancelled, the card network still routes the refund to the bank account behind it — contact your bank if you cannot see it.

In the rare case that two buyers pay for the same one-of-a-kind artwork at almost the same moment, the later order is refunded in full automatically and we email you to let you know.

Refunds for transit damage or a failure to meet a consumer guarantee follow the Australian Consumer Law — see our Returns & Warranty policy. Change-of-mind terms are set out there too.

Failed or disputed payments

If a payment does not clear, your order is not confirmed and any reserved artwork is released.

If you have a question about a charge, please contact us at hello@rugsley.studio before raising a chargeback so we can help resolve it quickly.

A chargeback is handled by your bank and Stripe under card-network rules, which usually takes considerably longer than a refund arranged directly with us — talking to us first is almost always faster.

Reserved items

Because each artwork is one-of-a-kind, it is held for you briefly during checkout. If you do not complete payment, the hold is released so others can buy it.
